Today a briefing was held by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova....

Traditionally, The Moscow Post correspondent asked his question.

Our question was: In connection with the beginning of a constructive dialogue between the Trump administration and the Russian Federation, are there any serious progress in easing pressure on our diplomats in the United States? Previously, they had a variety of obstacles to work, turned off the Internet, and so on.

Maria Vladimirovna noted. that the dialogue had just begun, as momentum was given by the leadership of the two countries.

"Now, at these moments, the parties are working in Riyadh, and the delegations are discussing the whole range of problematic issues. Can you imagine how many of them have accumulated? And not only over the past three years, when normal contacts were practically absent due to the fault of the previous Biden administration, but also over many previous years, when problems only accumulated, "she said.

Maria Zakharova stressed that the work has already begun.

"Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will tell about what was discussed, how the dialogue went and what issues were raised during communication with the press following the events," concluded Maria Zakharova.

Recall that today at about 10:30 Moscow time in Riyadh, negotiations between Russia and the United States started. After about two and a half hours, the parties took a 15-minute pause, after which negotiations continued until lunch.

Negotiations are taking place in one of the palaces of the royal family of Saudi Arabia - Diriya, located in the Albasatin complex.

On behalf of the Russian side, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and presidential aide Yuri Ushakov take part in the dialogue. The United States is represented by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Assistant to the President for National Security Mike Waltz and Special Envoy for the Middle East Stephen Whitkoff.

Earlier it was reported that the agenda of the negotiations is a wide range of issues, including the restoration of bilateral relations between Moscow and Washington, the preparation of a summit of heads of state, as well as possible ways to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
